Job Description
The Content Writer works as part of the Content Team and reports directly to the Team Manager. He is committed to producing content that aligns with our client’s brands. His primary responsibility is to produce unique content each month that is highly relevant to Google searches. We work in all types of industries. The article topics are provided to him as well as the targeted keywords.
Therefore, preference will be given to those who have experience in SEO. To clarify, he is responsible for the content production itself–all articles must be 100% unique and original. He must run all submissions through a plagiarism checker & word counter that we provide. No plagiarism will be tolerated in written work. Before submission, all work must be edited for grammar, readability, and spelling.
Responsibilities:
- Familiar with each organization’s brand ideals and website to create content that supports their objectives and desired identity;
- Cooperates with the marketing/SEO team to create web content and monitor its effectiveness over time;
- Coordinates with proofreader to ensure error-free content;
- Creates and publishes engaging content;
- Ensures that all content created is of high quality;
- Uses target keywords to write search-engine copy that is optimized for search engines (SEO) while remaining entertaining and informative;
- Stays abreast of current best practices in the industry and reviews competitor websites to compare their activities with those of your company;
- Uses search engine optimization (SEO) strategies in writing to maximize the online visibility of a website in search results;
- Monitors and analyze the performance of key performance indicators (KPIs) to offer suggestions for improvement;
- Develops related content for multiple platforms, such as websites, email marketing, product descriptions, videos, and blogs;
- Follows an editorial calendar, collaborating with other members of the content production team to ensure timely delivery of materials;
- Communicates and cooperates with a writing team, including a content manager, editors, and web publisher;
- Utilizes industry best practices and familiarity with the organization’s mission to inspire ideas and content; and
- Organizes writing schedules to complete drafts of content or finished projects within deadlines.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing Communications OR equivalent work experience:
- Minimum of 1 year Copywriting and/or SEO Writing experience
- Has a deep interest in cars, auto repair, and the automotive industry
- Must be able to demonstrate basic knowledge of SEO
- Must understand widely different target audiences
- Must have excellent grammar and spelling skills
- Ability to edit and proofread clear, concise, and engaging marketing-related copies: must have an eye for detail and be accurate in their work
- Proven aptitude for quick creative thinking with attention to detail within demanding and varying deadlines
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Ability to work independently: must be self-motivated and able to implement
- Able to work in a team environment: must be available for conference calls with team members
- Communication and team management skills: must respond quickly to communications
