Copywriter Needed At Electrify Video

We are looking for a passionate Copywriter to write sponsorships for a leading web development newsletter, which helps 200k+ professional developers stay informed on the JavaScript ecosystem in a fun and engaging format.

The ideal candidate is adept at communicating the value prop for highly technical software products and devtools in a digestible and engaging way, demonstrating a keen understanding of developer culture and humor. You should be able to write in an authentic tone that resonates with this community, and convert them to our sponsors’ products via effective calls to action that don’t feel overly spammy or annoying..

Experience writing ads for developer tools, software and technology products will be beneficial, but is not required.

Responsibilities:

• Write sponsored segments for two newsletter editions per week
• Digest technical software products and communicate their benefits to readers
• Craft effective CTAs that convert readers to sponsored products
• Communicate with sponsors to incorporate their revisions and feedback

Requirements:

• Demonstrable experience writing commercial copy, whether agency or in-house
• Demonstrable experience in copywriting with humour, satire, in line with the newsletter’s tone
• Passionate about the Creator Economy and the educational YouTube space
• Familiar with the newsletters space and how to write engaging ad copy for the format
• A self-motivated individual who thrives both independently and as part of a team, with a strong desire to grow and develop
• Highly organized, with excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
• An excellent communicator, both written and verbal, in English

Desirable

• This position is for a JavaScript-focused newsletter, so an interest in coding and programming is a big plus.
